Umlaut just returned from Comi-Con, the annual Geek / Nerd mecca event down in San Diego. Until I have time to write something, a picture is worth a thousand words:


After Elvira signed my photo she pointed at the dots over the "u" in Umlaut (I requested she put them there) and asked "Are those umlauts?" When I said they were she said "I'm not as dumb as I look!"
